In some sense, yes,if we found the right person to join the study group, but mostly.. it doesnt really comes out like the way we plan. as there are so many ppl in a group and some times, we might discuss other's thing, like "what u do today?, what interesting thing happen... and so forth", and some times, too hungry and go eat first and go here and there and at last, come back with nothing.. hahahah... thats is what always happen mostly.. but i think i prefer to study alone as i can get most out of it if the situation is quite and no one interrupe. but if we being given task before we come to group meeting, then it should be easier as we can debate on the points and brain storm and comes up other more interesting. so basically i think it depend on the group.. like who actually in the group, because it really will influence the outcome of the discussion

i think it depends a lot on the group. whether or not they are well prepared. if so, i'd be glad to join them to study. and i think that every group should have a member who is good in something. then he can conduct the group meeting for that particular subject that he is good at. when it is for other subject, maybe someone else who is better can conduct the meeting. i think this is the most effective way of group studies. IMHO, i had yet to come across group as efficient as mentioned :( not many ppl are willing to part with their knowledge, ie, when u ask for some answers for difficult questions, they will say they don't know.. but then when in class, they will be the one answering all the questions. however there are a few that are generous enough to help out.

Thank you so much for the comments, I agree with alkeincney - sometimes the group can get carried away with other things (this could be that the group does not have a rule/norms). I think if a group does have that then it would be much better interms of getting the work done.

What Siow JM said is also true - if all members have different expertise; the group will have the advantage as knowledge can be shared.

Anyway, next tutorial I would want to explore more the group discussion - we'll see how it works during the class with the 'Sifu' around...!!!

Group studies or group work is pretty much the same... For me, finding the right member is the essential thing, well, it is challenging as well if you did not meet the "right one". I once tried to do almost everything by myself or with only one "right person", it's lucky if you had one of that kind in the group... I met a group of very nice people as well. We work perfectly in a group, and it was awesome and so cool to finish everything before time and score the highest mark in class. I was super lucky I guess... but it does not mean if you stick to the same person everytime, it will still work the same... 'cause you will know each other too well and tends to depend on them... It is so complicated right? The only thing I could say is everyone has to play their own role.

Well, if you have been constantly doing your reading (of course with understanding)and attending classes, I don't see any reason why you can't get flying colors for the mid-term examination. MCQ can be very tricky...so do read and understand the questions carefully...Good Luck...

Sifu...just wanna know whether we have to prepare the IFAS nad EFAS for our client for tomorrow's tutorial? Since we have no idea of doing it..espcially the 'weighting' stuff...what we can identify now are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and also threats but we have no idea in applying these elements in to IFAS and EFAS.

Are u going to guide us tomorrow or we must come out with ours??

I will do a short briefing tomorrow, but the group must have some info on the company environmental analysis. This info will be used for the IFAS and EFAS discussion.

Sifu.....today's lecture was a good one...we recalled all the thing that we have learnt from lecture 1 until now...
actually we were very blur about what we've learnt...but after the lecture today...we can get a clearer picture now...
